I wanted a stiff board with a long effective edge and wide waist for carving. An added bonus was the 11-12mm of taper and early rise nose for float in powder. I’ve ridden it four days in the last week and rips as well as I’d hoped on groomers but does really well in powder both open and in the trees. Such a fun board and the quality is superb!
I bought a Bonsai while on a recent trip to the cottonwoods. I had purchased a demo Powgoda and was loving it, but the additional stiffness and sexy AF colors of the Bonsai was calling to me like “pleeeeease take me home you will not regret potentially pissing off your wife who is very understanding but might be a bit peeved about you buying 2 boards while on a 9 day guys trip.”
Fast forward four days of riding … every other board in my quiver has been shelved indefinitely. It’s stiff where you want it to be but also super playful. It has 2 distinct personalities. put your weight toward the nose and it rips super fast and precise turns through bumps, trees, whatever. But throw some weight toward the tail and you can surf this thing like your favorite fish. Five stars. Get one.
They charge 140-euro. Sending to Europe and when receiving the board you need to pay additional 220-euro. In total shipment costs are 360-euro. Which is almost half of the board. Also paid for additional layer of was but I don't see any difference... Little bit strange this superbe wax layer. I have got the impression that it is sales trick.
