“What if a splitboard could ride without compromise?”
This is one of the questions our founder, Sam Bawden, asked over a decade ago. As an architect, designer, and world class problem solver, he was determined to find the answer. It was during his quest to build the best splitboard - one that did not yet exist, one that was efficient on the climb and inspiring for the descent - that CARDIFF was born.

Through the use of new core constructions, proprietary shapes, refined flex patterns, and premium materials paired with elegant designs, we found our place in the industry by building splitboards for the mountains. But we didn’t stop there. Our high standards for splitboards naturally found their way into a line of snowboards and skis, all sharing the same philosophy - build a better ride.

For ten years we’ve obsessed over the details that matter - the details that many riders may not notice but will certainly feel. At the heart of CARDIFF is a team of passionate riders who live and breathe the Wasatch Mountains. A collective force of movers and shakers that ride, test, design, create, sell, share, and inspire the greater snow community, 365 days a year. We’ve got Bjorn Leines as CEO, steering the ship with 4 decades of on snow experience, Taylor and Connor Williams keeping operations running smooth as can be, 1-800-JMoSends aka Justin Morgan our salesman/hypeman, and the Provo brothers, Neil and Ian, behind the camera lens.

The Cardiff Crew extends beyond just the folks in-house who keep the gears turning - far and wide, a community has come together, centered around the same passion we share for skiing and snowboarding. We are incredibly humbled by ALL of the crew, all of YOU, who for the last ten years have trusted us with designing and building the very best boards out there. Industry recognition is nice, awards are cool, but nothing comes close to the feeling of watching you ride one of our boards with a huge smile on your face!
And so for the next decade ahead, our passion and direction continues forward. Our attention to detail and drive for innovation will not stop. We’ll continue to try and inspire others to experience the joy of sliding on snow. We’ll continue to build splitboards, snowboards and skis with intention.
